Our partner in Cameroon common initiative group GIC PPLAC, Cameroons leading cocoa producer, has become the first to receive UTZ Certification for its 385 Ha cocoa plantation. The certification was realized in partnership with Theobroma.

About GIC PPLAC
GIC PPLAC is the French acronym for Groupement d’Initiative Commune des Producteurs du Projet Lourd Agricole du Cameroun. As the name implies, it is a sustainable agro-development group charged with overseeing macro or broad based agricultural projects. Its principal activities include agriculture and animal husbandry. With a farmland of over 385 hectares, GIC PPLAC is not only the leading cocoa producer in Cameroon but is equally involved in the large scale seasonal production of plantains, bananas, maize, tomatoes, tangerines and grape fruits. GIC PPLAC’s gigantic agricultural structure which history has recorded as the largest in Cameroon to be owned by a single individual is situated in Etam Nyat, a village in the outskirts of the Centre Region.

Agro Produce Management Services (AMS)
Theobroma is now locally represented in Cameroon by the newly created Agro-produce Management Services Ltd (AMS) in Tiko. The country manager is Etake Divine. We also have an ICS team in place to help more Cameroonian farmers to reach certification of their cocoa farms.
